Texas Hold'em Poker rules

Objective

Win chips by holding the best five-card poker hand at showdown, or by betting until everyone else folds. A private match ends when one seat holds every chip or the hand limit is reached.

Setup

  • Two to six players. Private tables start each seat with 1,000 chips and 5/10 blinds by default.
  • Public cash tables buy in for 100, 250, 500 or 1,000 Boldscore; blinds are the buy-in divided by 100 and by 50.
  • One standard 52-card deck, shuffled by the server every hand.

Hand flow

  • The two players after the dealer button post the small and big blind.
  • Each player gets two private hole cards, then a betting round.
  • The flop (three shared cards), the turn (one) and the river (one) each bring another betting round.
  • On your turn you can fold, check (when nothing is owed), call, raise, or go all in. This is no-limit: you can raise up to your whole stack.

Showdown and side pots

  • Remaining players show their cards. The best five-card hand made from any of their two hole cards and the five board cards wins.
  • When a player is all in for less, side pots split by what each player put in, and each pot goes to the best hand eligible for it.
  • Hand ranking, high to low: royal flush, straight flush, four of a kind, full house, flush, straight, three of a kind, two pair, one pair, high card.

Busting out

A player with no chips leaves the table between hands. In Strip Hold'em, a busted player can instead trade a clothing layer for a fresh stack.

Lobbies, turns and timers

  • Open a lobby, choose your options, then share the invite link or the 8-character room code. Invite-only lobbies stay closed to anyone you did not invite.
  • Every decision runs on a 45-second clock. Let it lapse and your hand folds.
  • Leave whenever you like. The host can end the match at any point, and a finished lobby reopens with the same seats for a rematch.

Bold Points stakes (optional)

  • When you open the lobby you can play free or set a stake from 10 to 1,000 Bold Points per player.
  • Stakes are held in escrow when the match starts. The winner takes the pot; a draw or an aborted match returns every stake.
  • Stake winnings are capped at 5,000 Bold Points per member per day.

Fair play

  • Every rule is enforced on the server. Your browser only sends what you chose; the server decides if it was legal and what happens next.
  • Hidden information (hole cards, the deck, the dealer card) never reaches another player's device.

Strategy and tips

  1. Play fewer hands from early position and more from the button.
  2. Raise your strong hands instead of calling. It builds the pot and narrows the field.
  3. Watch stack sizes. A short stack all in cannot win more than it put in.
  4. The timer is 45 seconds. Decide on the big spots, act fast on the easy folds.
